Self-belief Coaches!
Part of the process of integrating learning is about reflecting on what has changed for you.
At the end of each module, we'll offer you some questions for you to ponder.
"What has been a positive experience you've had in moving from Sameness to Difference? What about a more challenging experience? How do you believe self-doubt played a role?”
"How might your coaching approach differ for clients in different developmental stages?”
Please share your thoughts in the discussion! We'd love to know what you are thinking about.
Hi all, I’m trying to get some time to actually come on and engage here as keep wanting to! Sas I wanted to say how much I’ve appreciated the podcast episodes in the references lists as I’ve been able to listen to those while doing pram walks and feel like I’m still engaging with the learning!
I had a question / was wondering about the developmental stuff and whether you would ever do a sort of psychoeducation piece with clients? I can imagine this wouldn’t be appropriate for all but I guess I’m thinking that as a client I might be really interested to understand some of this? Just something I’ve been thinking about and wondered if you Sas or any others had experience or thoughts on this
yes that definitely helps. I think I have a tendency to want to share all the theory behind everything and overexplain, in big part because I find it super interesting and helpful but also I think potentially as a bit of a self doubt showing up of thinking that my guidance / work needs validation or something like that.
thanks for sharing your approach Sas it’s really helpful and I will keep that in mind.
Just catching up on all the videos this week. Such rich learning and lots of reflection points! Thanks Sas for the clarity and conciseness of your teaching.
Thats great to hear Ruth 🙂

So glad those podcasts are helping Harriet! And there is no need to dive into anything other than the curriculum – but I know so many of us like to follow breadcrumb trails of the topics that open us up 🙂
Great question. That’s right I don’t tend to share psychoeducation with clients unless there is a specific reason. One example might be a client who feels very alone in their experience – offering them the wider perspective can be helpful to show that actually, they are far from alone.
But my tendency is to stay away from theory as this distracts from the client’s experience.
Does this help Harriet?
