Sas, I’m just looking through the downloads for this module – should the Meet Your Protector Guidance be different from the Script? It’s the same document.

Hi Sas, where do we find information on how the different protectors interact – when they team up? Thanks

Nothing specific, They’re a nice summary of each module so would be handy to have them to refer back to quickly

Finding this all super interesting Sas! I wish I had more time to come on and discuss in the comments as I keep meaning to and then don’t have hands free… but I wanted to say how fascinating I’m finding the faces of the protector and I was thinking during the session / wondering whether people ahve coached couples with this? I feel like the understanding of other people’s protectors could be hugely beneficial for relationships. Or even if not both the couple / people of some kind of relationship were there, whether you support clients in understanding others with this theory ? I think I’m looking at all this from a theoretical / hypothetical standpoint rather than from my own practice but just finding it really interesting!

Also was brilliant to see Scott demonstrate coaching the protector map in the study group – super helpful and powerful. I am feeling excited and also definitely feeling some protector voices showing up for me about how I don’t know enough to do it right yet and might not have the right instincts to do it as well as Sas / Scott (bystander & critic combo!)

Reflecting on Module 6

Self-belief Coaches!

Part of the process of integrating learning is about reflecting on what has changed for you.

  • Which 'face' of the Protector do you feel is most prevalent for you?   What is the message that your Protector is telling you about this?  And what does your Healthy Adult Self have to say?
  • When you consider the type of client you usually work with, is there a typical Face to their Protector that they tend to have?   How might this influence how you coached with them?

Please share your thoughts in the discussion!

This is a way of creating moment-in-time reflections that will help to anchor your learning. Your reflections may also be useful for your certification submission.
