This module is all about bringing your Healthy Adult Self resources of self-belief, self-acceptance, self-worth and self-trust together.
Coaching Tools:
- The Sacred Pause: Living from your Healthy Adult Self
- The Psychology of Proper Adulting
In The Sacred Pause you'll have a way to dip into your Healthy Adult Self resources before you respond. This is a great practice for whenever your Self-doubt pops up! It has the effect of evolving your self-talk into a helpful and compassionate voice - that of a wise and supportive friend.
I am also sharing some of the underpinning theory of my approach to coaching. In the psychology of Proper Adulting you'll get a behind the scenes peak into developmental psychology and how this can support us.
There is room in your Self-belief School Playbook to journal and reflect. Please do share your learnings, ponderings, and thoughts in the Discussion below.

Module Ten
Hello-
Thank you for this module of invitation, inspiration and intriguing explanation.
Do you have a specific book by Robert Kegan that you recommend?
Here’s a waltz that is on my mind this morning:

I’m so glad this was interesting Mary!
Bob Kegan’s books are super academic (there is one that I can’t finish its so dry!). He partnered up with Lisa Lahey about 15 years ago and so I recommend anything she has coauthored: Immunity to Change + An Everyone Culture are really helpful though they are both management books (I guess that’s what sells). I think he is more compelling when he speaks so you might enjoy this youtube of him speaking at the Royal Society of the Arts here in London.
Another author you might enjoy is Jennifer Garvey-Berger. She studied with Kegan for years and is one fo the few women writing about adult development.
The waltz is divine! A new page is coming (as per your suggestion!) for sharing art, books, music xx
I’m seeing some changes. I was feeling overwhelmed with the wealth of great information, like where do I start, and I thought that I’d done very little. Turns out that’s not true. As I read over my notes, I can see that I’ve done quite a few things on my goals list. It was quite heartening to discover that. I’m feeling more positive today. Maybe I’m not seeing the end of this particular journey (not that I want it to end), but there’s enough light for me to keep along the path.
Hey Fiona,
Of course!
We have our wrap-up session this Thursday 15th December (an email went out this morning).
We begin 2023 the week commencing January 16th with a 30-day goal focus. This will include four calls with me on Tuesdays at 10am. We’ll send out more info about this in early January 🙂

Susan I love this realisation! It’s wonderful to acknowledge that you are moving forwards on your path and its taking as long as it takes. I can’t wait to see what 2023 brings for you 🙂
I also can’t wait. Thank you, Sas!
yay!
Hi. I wasn’t quite sure where to put this. I’m confused about when the last group coaching call of the year is and when everything starts back up in the new year. Please could I have dates and times?
